Wounded Warrior Project

Tuesday, October 30th, 2012

In 2008 the 4th Degree Knights of Assembly #3001, located in North Carolina representing Councils from Maggie Valley, Waynesville, Franklin and Andrews, joined with other 4th Degree Assemblies throughout North Carolina, along with the Military Order of the Purple Heart, in an effort to send the wounded men and women located in the Hospitals at Camp Lejune and Fort Bragg home for the Christmas Holidays.

The 1st year our Assembly, with your help, collected $12,000 which helped to send 157 wounded men and women home for the Holidays.

The 2nd year we collected $10,250 which helped send 139 wounded warriors home for the Holidays.

The 3rd year we invested in the purchase of “Keep Christ in Christmas” car magnets selling them and along with your donations was able to collect $13,250, helping to send 189 home for the Holidays.Keep Christ in Christmas

Last year, the 4th year, we were able to muster up $14,000 and helped send 329 home for the Holidays.

We have been told that this year there are over 495 service personal in the two hospitals, wounded protecting our “freedom” and our way of life. What better gift can we give our Servicemen and women than to send them home to be with their families and loved ones for the most important holiday of the year, “Our Lord’s Birthday”?

Thanks to Dick Hamel, our District Deputy, for this information.

Donations will be collected on November 11/12 weekend. Please be generous.
