lonnie_pizzaMarch 2014

Would like to start this edition of our newsletter off by congratulating some very special people, our Knights of the Year, as selected by our Council Members. They are: Knight of the Year – SK John LaFata; Golden Knight of the Year – SK Chuck Luce; Rookie of the Year – Brother Jeff Schandevel; Family of the Year -SK Chuck and Dot Luce. Well deserved recognition for all that these special members do for our Council. Again, “congrats” on your selection.

Our St. Patrick’s Day luncheon is right around the corner and will be held on Sunday, March 16 in Fellowship Hall following the 11 am Mass at St. Johns. Like to ask your help and support. “Chef ” Mark DeMarco once again has volunteered to put this meal together for us. Should be a great event, and hope to see you there.

Our Council will be sponsoring the “Soup and Bread” night on Friday, March 21st. Thanks to Frank Burda for coordinating this event, and following this Lenten Meal John LaFata will be leading the Stations of the Cross.

Would like to ask your help with the State Raffle. Stan Finn is coordinating this for us; and would like you to please keep in mind that this is one of the Council’s main fund raisers for the year. We would like to wrap this up by the end of the month as we are getting ready to start a very busy period of service programs, projects, and events to include the LAMB Kick Off and Easter Egg Hunt just to name a few.

We are planning a 1st Degree Ceremonial for our May meeting, and would like to ask all Council Members to help us with our efforts to recruit new members. A 4th Degree Ceremonial is planned here in Waynesville for May 3rd. For additional information please contact our RDD/DD Dick Hamel.

For the Financial Secretary, just a reminder that annual dues are still being collected.

Thank you for your support and help as we continue to serve our Church, Parish, and Community. Greatly appreciate all you do!!!
