Worthy Grand Knight’s Message – August 2013
Our Council continues to be an active supporter of our Parish and local community. The July LAMB Drive was extremely successful in spite of the wet weather. Special thanks to Chris for coordinating this event. And we had a great turnout at the Ministry for Haywood County Schools, the “paint up, fix up” project at Waynesville Middle School. Council members, and some of the wives, volunteered their time and talent painting, weeding, mulching, and seeding. Special thanks to Chuck Simmons for coordinating this event. And of course a big “thank you” to all those who participated in these events.
Our Council has voted to sponsor a table at the Smokey Mountain Pregnancy Care Center Benefit to be held on September 7th. If interested in attending please contact John LaFata.
Our plans are to have a 1st Degree Exemplification no later than our next Business Meeting. Please continue your recruitment efforts and contact Dennis O’Connell should you have a candidate.
In regards to recruitment, please remember to wear your Knights emblematics (shirts, hats, pins, etc) when participating in one of our service programs, projects, or events; and when attending church services.
And our Council will be hosting both a 2nd Degree and 3rd Degree Exemplification on Saturday September 28. Friday September 27 will be an initial “set up” day. Will need a lot of help to make this happen. Point of contact for the 2nd Degree is Dennis O’Connell and Sam Mattoni is the point of contact for the 3rd Degree.
